<h5><strong>The area</strong></h5>
<p>A well-known surf break right off the beach draws wave-riders from around the world, and there are several nearby points of interest on the Bukit Peninsula. The <a href="https://newkutagolf.co.id/?destinasian">New Kuta Golf</a> course wraps around the property on two sides; a 20-minute drive away, the monumental copper-and-steel statue at <a href="https://www.gwkbali.com/?destinasian">Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park</a> pays tribute to Balinese Hinduism. Traffic conditions permitting, the journey to Uluwatu Temple—whose grounds provide a magical setting for the <em>kecak</em> fire dance—takes about half an hour by car.</p>

<p>Set in luxuriant gardens by the late Made Wijaya, <a href="https://www.jumeirah.com/en/stay/bali/jumeirah-bali?destinasian">Jumeirah Bali</a> is styled as a Hindu-Javanese water palace complete with bubbling fountains, fish ponds, and tiered swimming pools just above the beach. Hospitality design veterans Martin Grounds and Jean-Michel Gathy allude to the Majapahit era through details like intricate Javanese wood carvings on villa doors and pillars and Ramayana stone reliefs that adorn the living spaces. Mock overgrown ruins recall those found in Trowulan, site of the Majapahit capital, while the 120-year-old banyan tree outside the lobby has been named Wringin Lawang after an imposing gateway that still stands today.</p>

Akasa’s excellent seafood dishes include Jimbaran prawn salad and spice-rubbed local sea bass cooked in banana leaf, all enjoyed against the dramatic backdrop of the Indian Ocean. Pair them with creative cocktails like The First King, an intense concoction made from papaya-infused blanco tequila.</p>

<p>An advanced desalination system and low-flow fixtures ensure that <a href="https://www.jumeirah.com/en/stay/bali/jumeirah-bali?destinasian">Jumeirah Bali</a> does not put a strain on the island’s water supply. The resort is powered in part by solar panels, and its permaculture gardens brim with native flora, medicinal herbs, and edible plants; on-site restaurants and bars prioritize organic Bali-grown ingredients.
