Come 2027, travelers on the world’s longest passenger flights, between Singapore and New York, will be able to relax in ultimate comfort at 30,000 feet.

For the past six years, Singapore Airlines has engaged its customers and stakeholders in the creation of its next-generation long-haul cabin products – a collaborative effort now brought to fruition with the announcement of a sweeping US$834-million multiyear refit program. This ambitious upgrade will see the installation of new first-class cabins on seven A350-900 long-haul and ultra-long-range aircraft, as well as the introduction of an enhanced business class Suite across all 41 A350 aircraft. Premium economy and economy class will also be improved, raising the bar for the guest experience across the board. This means that passengers traveling nonstop between Singapore and New York will soon have the chance to fly in even more comfort.
The First Class suite will be completely reimagined with a spacious, ergonomic design. These upgraded seats, along with new business class cabins, will also feature on Singapore Airlines’ upcoming Boeing 777-9 aircraft. Complementing the suites’ new look is the latest iteration of the KrisWorld inflight entertainment system, which introduces personalized options and a wide array of lifestyle choices across all cabin classes, with expanded screens in first and business class.
However, eager travelers will have to wait a bit longer to experience these innovations firsthand. The first retrofitted A350-900 LH aircraft is slated to enter service in the second quarter of 2026, with the initial A350-900ULR following in the first quarter of 2027. The extensive refit program is scheduled for completion by the end of 2030.
Following the retrofit, the 34 A350-900 long-haul aircraft will feature with 42 seats in business class, 24 in premium economy, and 192 in economy. The seven A350-900ULR variants will be configured with four first-class seats, 70 business-class seats, and 58 in premium economy.
