A transformative cultural landmark in Bali, Saka Museum houses an extensive collection of Balinese heritage. True to its vision, Saka Museum continues to enrich its offerings with new exhibitions curated by leading local and international experts, each designed to provide immersive and educational encounters with Bali’s cultural landscape.

Visitors are welcomed by Kasanga, curated by Gurat Institute, which draws guests into the sacred atmosphere of Nyepi, Bali’s Day of Silence. This exhibition combines sculptural reliefs, archival photography, installations, and film to create a powerful multisensory experience.

Nearby, Subak: The Ancient Order of Bali presents an engaging portrait of Bali’s UNESCO-listed irrigation system, Subak—a living philosophy and water management tradition central to Balinese life. Through multimedia exhibits, documentary films, and a captivating hourly light-and-sound show, visitors explore the ecological wisdom and spiritual harmony that sustain Subak communities.

Also on the ground floor, Panca Maha Bhuta offers a rare collection of sacred objects and artworks interpreted through the Balinese lens of the five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether. This exhibition invites guests to reflect on the unseen forces that have shaped the island’s rituals and creativity over generations.

On the second floor, Twilight Journey immerses visitors in a dome installation created by Bali-based multimedia artists Wahyudi Chandra and Raden Cahyoko (Kokok). Using interactive audiovisual technology, the installation recreates the starry skies of Nyepi night in four different locations on the island within a seven-minute timelapse video, guiding viewers through a contemplative visual narrative of Bali’s sacred landscapes.

Located within the Ayana Estate complex, Saka Museum has swiftly become a cornerstone of cultural and artistic discourse on the island. Its innovative approach has earned major global accolades, including recognition as one of TIME Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places 2024. The museum’s striking architecture and environmental design has also been honored internationally, from the Kyoto Global Design Award 2024 (Top 100 for Environmental Design) to being named one of the World’s Most Beautiful Museums 2025 by Prix Versailles.
