Mandala Club and Belmond excited Singapore diners with a taste of the homelands of leading Italian chefs.

Diners in Singapore experienced the best of Italian cuisine, as some of Italy’s most celebrated chefs took up residence at the city’s Mandala Club. Experience Villeggiatura, the art of endless Italian summers, a partnership with Belmond, brought all the elements of a lazy Italian summer to Bukit Pasoh, open to members and non-members alike.

The event kicked off in January with chef Vania Ghedini (from Michelin-starred Oro at Hotel Cipriani in Venice). Celebrated chefs from the Belmond group gave diners in Singapore the opportunity to try some of their famous Italian homeland cuisine. The first floor of Mandala Club transformed into an Italian terrace, where the views from the huge arched “windows” changed to reflect the hometown of the resident chef.

Daniele Sera from Tosca Restaurant at Castello di Casole, who grew up in the stunning regions of Tuscany and Liguria, brought favorites such as Cappellacci with Pappa al Pomodoro and Tosca Fillet with black truffle; finishing with Nonna’s Cake and Valdichiana Hazelnut Cream. Daniele’s passion for cooking comes from his parents; his Tuscan mother was a private cook for noble Florentine families.

The food of Naples was showcased in Armando Aristarco’s dishes. Helming Ristorante Belvedere at Caruso, on the Amalfi Coast, his traditional recipes center on seasonal ingredients and slow cooking, blending flavors from both the coast and volcanic slopes.
