France’s flag carrier is taking the art of living well to new heights with its signature Gallic flair. Cue the launch of the redesigned cabin products for guests booked into La Première, the airline’s First Class. Consisting of only four modular suites, the new La Première cabins will debut aboard Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on selected long-haul routes, with Singapore and Tokyo-Haneda due to be added this summer.
Characterized by soothing shades of gray, metallic details, and pops of red, the new La Première suites span five portholes and are nearly 3.5 meters long, translating to 25 percent more space compared to the current First-Class product. The built-in armchair features soft ergonomic foam that adjusts to the passenger’s body shape and a leather headrest. This seat comes with four modes tailored to different stages of the journey: takeoff, landing, mealtime, and relaxation. Passengers can easily dine and work thanks to a specially designed console and tray tables; a wall and table lamp add a touch of refinement.
A key component of the suite is the separate chaise longue, which transforms into a full-flat bed measuring two meters long and 75 centimeters wide. Attentive crew members will be on hand to add a mattress topper and soft pillow, not to mention a duvet by high-end French bedding brand Dumas Paris. A wireless touchscreen tablet serves as a remote control for adjusting the lighting and window shades, in addition to the recline of the armchair, chaise longue, or bed.

Manufactured in France by STELIA Aerospace, these elegant La Première suites offer discerning flyers a cozy private retreat. Air France has also swapped out overhead bins for floor-mounted storage to increase the sense of space. Hence the sliding drawer able to fit two cabin-size suitcases and a shoe cupboard beneath the chaise longue; personal items can be stowed in a built-in niche with a backlit mirror. A full-height electric sliding partition for suites in the center can be opened up for traveling couples. Extra privacy can be attained by closing the thick mesh curtains.
Tech touches were done with the 21st-century traveler in mind. Complimentary Wi-Fi is guaranteed, and the new suites feature two 32-inch 4K screens, allowing guests to enjoy 1,500 hours of entertainment including nearly 350 movies, many of which have won awards at the Cannes Film Festival. Denon noise-canceling headphones are provided too. Each suite is also fitted with wireless charging stations, a smartphone or tablet holder, and 110V/220V, USB A, and USB C power outlets.
Gastronomy is another strong point of La Première. The emphasis on seasonal produce will be matched with top-quality champagnes, foie gras, and Sturia caviar farmed in the Aquitaine region. Gourmet à la carte menus will feature signature dishes created by a changing roster of French chefs leading three-Michelin-starred restaurants both at home and abroad. Emmanuel Renaut, Arnaud Lallement, and Anne-Sophie Pic will take turns conceiving culinary delights for flights originating in Paris; La Première guests departing Singapore will be treated to a regularly updated menu by Julien Royer, chef-owner of Odette, while those flying from the United States will savor the inventive cuisine of the legendary Dominique Crenn.

Oenophiles can look forward to a wine and champagne list devised by Xavier Thuziat, head sommelier of Paris’s Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel. He has picked out the crème de la crème of French vintages for the La Première cabin. Meanwhile, acclaimed mixologist Matthias Giroud will concoct three signature cocktails using French ingredients to round out the fine-dining experience at 35,000 feet.
Special keepsakes include exclusive Sisley amenity kits in pearl gray or red—embossed with the Air France emblem of a winged seahorse—containing four moisturizing skincare products alongside a sleep mask, earplugs, a pen, and a wooden comb. Air France has also teamed up with French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus to create all-new La Première pajamas in navy blue cotton, available in four different sizes. These outfits feature pajama tops with a V-neck and fitted cut for women, and a round neck and regular fit for men.
The new La Première suites will make their inaugural appearance on Boeing 777-300ERs flying between Paris-Charles de Gaulle to New York-JFK this spring, before being rolled out during the summer season to Los Angeles, Singapore, and Tokyo-Haneda. By mid-year, they will become available on 19 aircraft serving 10 Air France destinations.
