Celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s first outpost in Singapore is one not to be missed by fans. Nestled in a peaceful Zen garden on the third floor of Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, Nobu Singapore feels delightfully secluded and sophisticated. The elegant, wood-paneled interior offers both table and counter seating, which gives a view of the chefs at work. The collection of private dining rooms will satisfy larger groups. Nobu’s selection of Peruvian-inflected Japanese favorites are noteworthy: don’t miss the signature black cod miso and F1 Japanese beef toban yaki. These specialties feature on both the à la carte menu, which includes sushi and other delicacies, and the omakase menus—a great way to sample a small taste of everything along with a little Singaporean flavor. The restaurant also offers a weekend brunch that includes unlimited servings of signature dishes plus a lineup of high-quality beverages including its own sake, the Nobu Junmai Daiginjo. A visit to The Bar at Nobu—a small, garden-facing spot for craft cocktails and Japanese-Peruvian bar bites—is a must, before or after a meal. —Karen Fong
