But the incongruity of its name can be forgiven when you consider Yona’s uniqueness as a multi-floor, purpose-built floating venue, moored about 1.5 kilometers off the shores of Phuket. Getting there doesn’t take much commitment—the speedboat shuttle from Patong Pier to <a href="https://yonabeach.com/?DestinAsian">Yona</a> is included in the price of admission. (Departures are currently scheduled until April 21, 2024.) By day, the vibe on board is relaxed, with guests soaking up the sun and splashing around the pool. Those feeling peckish can order from a globe-trotting menu at the breezy restaurant: think fresh sushi rolls, lamb massaman curry, and linguine with vongole. Just to be clear, this is no ordinary beer barge. As night falls, the music goes up as does the energy level, making it more than a match for any land-based discotheque.
