What’s New at Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach

Aside from a series of animal welfare events throughout April, guests can also look forward to recently updated menus at two of the resort’s most popular restaurants.

Which other five-star stay in Bali’s Seminyak area channels the energy and style of the surrounding neighborhood? Hotel Indigo brings its signature flair to a resort setting where every guest is welcomed with genuine Balinese hospitality and a relaxed casual-chic vibe. Situated on 4.7 hectares of prime beachfront land, the property is a contemporary ode to the local culture. Design details throughout the public and private spaces include striking geometric patterns and accents inspired by traditional Balinese weaving.

Guest quarters include 270 generously sized rooms and suites as well as 19 gorgeously appointed villas. Entry-level accommodations start out at 50 square meters; all have a spa-inspired bathroom and their own balcony with a daybed. For even more space and privacy, the villas feature a private outdoor pool and separate whirlpool, in addition to a marble bathroom and walk-in closet. Villa guests will also be pampered through privileges like 24-hour butler service, and access to any of the scheduled resort activities available daily.

Special Offer

Available until September 30, 2024 for stays through December, the Seminyak Bliss deal includes a complimentary daily resort credit of IDR 300,000 (US$19) for standard rooms, IDR 500,000 (US$31) for suites, and IDR 1,000,000 (US$62) for villas.

A highlight of Hotel Indigo Bali’s diverse culinary lineup (the resort has no less than eight restaurants and bars) is beachside dining destination SugarSand. Combining Zen-like simplicity with local style, it brings the convivial spirit of a Japanese neighborhood eatery to the Balinese coast. SugarSand’s alfresco rooftop lounge is the ideal perch for admiring fiery tropical sunsets over the Indian Ocean, and patrons can tuck into modern Japanese cuisine prepared with Indonesian ingredients. The kitchen is helmed by chef Syamsul Rizal, whose globe-trotting career has taken him to top restaurants like Nobu in Miami and the Dubai outpost of Zuma.

Lunch dishes at SugarSand range from wagyu-stuffed gyoza and chicken katsu sandos to a selection of maki rolls and octopus in yuzu mitsuba sauce. When night falls, the menu switches to izakaya-leaning signatures like gindara miso and the 250-gram Kiwami Wagyu Bollar Blade with charred baby kalian. Equally mouth-watering are the signature creations and Japan-inspired cocktails shaken up by the skilled mixologists, enjoyed to a soundtrack of chill beats from the resident DJs.

Over at all-day restaurant Makase, executive chef Heri Riskiawan Efendi’s recently updated menu provides a modern interpretation of Southeast Asian street food. He puts a personal twist on the recipes of time-honored classics based on his extensive travels throughout the region. Patrons can savor the authentic flavors of Singaporean seafood laksa, Vietnamese pho bo, and larb gai—a minced chicken, lettuce, and mint salad hailing from northeastern Thailand. Must-try Indonesian specialties include the Central Javanese–style braised lamb shank.

As part of the resort’s ongoing efforts to give back to the community, it has unveiled Paws for Purpose, a new CSR program created in partnership with the Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA). The launch is being celebrated through a series of on-site activities this month. At Paw Yoga every Friday evening throughout April (5–6 p.m.), participants will be given the opportunity to adopt puppies under BAWA’s care. Two more events have been scheduled on April 19th. Open to all pet owners living in and around Seminyak, the free Spay & Neuter pop-up clinic run by licensed professionals from 12–3 p.m., while People for Paws, a 45-minute sharing session aimed at raising awareness of animal welfare issues, will be held at 4 p.m.
