The New Face of Prince Hotel, Hong Kong

Fresh from an extensive three-year renovation, Prince Hotel, Hong Kong now looks better than ever. The recently reopened property puts guests right in the heart of Kowloon’s buzzing Tsim Sha Tsui neighborhood, making it an ideal choice for business and leisure travelers alike. Directly connected to the Harbour City complex—one of the top retail and dining destinations in Hong Kong—it’s part of the family of Marco Polo Hotels.

The reimagined public spaces and accommodations all sport a bold new color scheme that reflects the dynamism of Hong Kong. Stepping into the marble-floored lobby at street level, you’ll be greeted with pops of blue and orange and ever-changing hues from the custom-made light fixtures. Books and artworks on display give the intimate reception area a residential feel, while floor-to-ceiling windows and mirror panels in the ceiling add to the sense of space.

Upstairs, Prince Hotel’s 394 guest rooms and suites range from 29 to 56 square meters in size, and offer views of either the cityscape or Victoria Harbour. Accommodations have been designed to be bright and functional, employing three main colors: imperial red, sunrise yellow, and navy blue. These are vividly expressed in statement walls and certain furnishings. No matter which room you book, a window-side chaise longue is guaranteed, as is a smart TV and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Those desiring a bit more living space should opt for the harbor-facing Continental Club suites on the 16th and 17th floors. The open-plan layouts feature pillars adorned with a map of Tsim Sha Tsui, and walk-in bathrooms that come with marble counter tops, open closets, and separate showers. Another perk? Exclusive access to the Continental Club lounge, a tranquil spot for enjoying daily breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails.

On the dining front, third-floor venue SAVVY spans nearly 750 square meters; it comprises an elegant restaurant, a lounge for light bites and desserts, and a bar that serves barrel-aged cocktails. In addition, there are two private dining rooms that can be booked for celebrations and business meetings. Seasoned Chef de Cuisine Derek Ng oversees SAVVY’s kitchen, which serves a diverse array of Asian and Western dishes throughout the day. The à la carte menu has plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options, while there’s also an emphasis on sustainably sourced seafood.

Staying fit is easy, thanks to the presence of a 24-hour gym stocked with cardiovascular and weight-training equipment. The outdoor swimming pool and wellness facilities at Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel, a sister property just five minutes away on foot, are also open to Prince Hotel guests.

The luxury shopping mecca of Canton Road is right downstairs, and you’re within easy walking distance of the Star Ferry Pier as well as the famed Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront promenade, where must-visit attractions include the Hong Kong Museum of Art and Avenue of Stars. Kowloon Park—an urban oasis with 13 hectares of greenery—lies just a few paces away. The property’s proximity to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station means that exploring the rest of Hong Kong is a cinch.

Heading there soon? Prince Hotel’s “We Are Open!” package delivers a handful of extra benefits for stays until October 31, 2023. Apart from a complimentary room upgrade, guests will be treated to welcome drinks at SAVVY, a bottle of house red wine in their rooms, plus a chocolate gift box.
