On the 40th floor of the swanky <a href="https://destinasian.com/hotels-w-macau-studio-city/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">W hotel</a>, a gigantic abstract sculpture of a golden dragon swoops across the ceiling of Diva, backed by floor-to-ceiling windows framing futuristic views of Studio City’s gigantic figure-eight Ferris wheel. Three private rooms can be booked for special occasions, but the main horseshoe-shaped dining room is preferable for its hip sociable vibe. As for the food, Malaysian chef Yap Kim Leong celebrates the Cantonese diaspora with dishes that trail <a href="https://destinasian.com/luxury-travel/spotlight/discover-macau" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Macau</a>’s old spice trade routes. Seasonal dishes might include deep-fried Ibérico pork ribs with a creamy lime sauce, springy white asparagus in vinegar dressing, or chunky XO-drenched river prawns, while year-round plates include crispy chicken with pomelo, laksa-laced lobster with a side of scallion pancakes, and tender wagyu beef cubes sautéed with baby bamboo shoots and green Sichuan pepper. Pairing options include an excellent choice of Old and New World wines, tea-inspired cocktails, Scotch whiskies, and Japanese sakes.
