Tucked in the corner of an old-fashioned barbershop inside a boutique mall, Three X Co has carved out a reputation as a trailblazer in mixology since its inception in 2017 by three friends passionate about their drinks. In this speakeasy, the ambiance is convivial and playful (as with its mural of a Chinese opera singer, martini in one hand and cigar in the other). For cocktail newbies, a quadrant chart at the end of the menu offers a guide, ensuring everyone finds the right sip. Award-winning head bartender Amanda Wan suggests Danny’s Delight, a gin-cucumber mix, as a refreshing start for light drinkers. Her penchant for tea inspired the creation of Three X Co’s Tea-Riffic Twins (a spirit-infused oolong served both hot and cold alongside a Hokkaido cheese foam dessert) and Meow-Meow San, crafted with three-flower tea and named for her pet cat. While the zesty Whimsy Wabbit teases with lychee martini and a jelly rabbit treat, Jo’s Joget (referring to a traditional Malay dance) has a lively mix of gin, mezcal, and Creole bitters that will put a swing in your step. —Angela Goh
