If you only have time to visit one of the hidden watering holes along Petaling Street, make it PS150—an unassuming cocktail bar that masquerades as a faux store named Cheng and Huat Toys and Co. Push on the wooden doors and let the pre-war aesthetic, from the exposed brick walls to old-school Chinese portraits, take you back in time. Every cocktail is a nod to the classics but spiked with Southeast Asian flavors. The smoky Don’t Say Bojio has localized the penicillin through ingredients like ginseng-infused tuak (Sarawakian rice wine), while the refreshingly sour Salty Chinaman, a preserved lemon–infused vodka, reflects the Malaysian penchant for iced fresh lime juice. Lightweight drinkers will enjoy Lychee No.3, a sweet, citrusy cousin of the martini. For something off-menu, the Bartender’s Choice is a rotation of new limited-time creations.
