This art deco–style space by F&amp;B empire <a href="https://new.uniongroupjakarta.com/?DestinAsian">The Union Group</a> shares a street-level entrance (and bar bites) with French restaurant Pierre but feels completely different. Padded armchairs, vintage posters on tiled walls, and stained-glass windows conjure up the image of a gentlemen’s club that buzzes even early on weeknights. The signature pours are a testament to the creativity of the founding bartenders and their knack for using local ingredients. Garnished with a slice of cheddar, Batavia Milk Punch is fruity and full-bodied with a complex, lingering aftertaste; components include pineapple, spiced rum, and Cap Tikus, a traditional spirit from North Sulawesi distilled from the sap of the arenga palm. In need of something stronger? 24K derives its citrusy, punchy flavor from a base of Scotch whisky infused with mouth-tingling andaliman pepper. Sit at the curving bar and you might just meet <a href="https://www.instagram.com/mokakiki/?hl=en?DestinAsian">Kiki Moka</a>, a pioneer on the Jakarta bar scene who is considered one of Indonesia’s top mixologists. —James Louie
