Celebrating its first anniversary this July, the new addition to the capital’s cocktail offering has quickly become a firm favorite. Cozied up in the <a href="https://www.hyatt.com/grand-hyatt/en-US/jakgh-grand-hyatt-jakarta?DestinAsian">Grand Hyatt Jakarta</a>, Cosmo Pony felt like a well-loved fixture, within weeks of opening. Barflies who follow the cocktail scene will be reassured there are some riffs on <a href="https://destinasian.com/singapore-nightlife-jigger-pony">Singapore favorites</a>, but this is a <a href="https://www.cosmopony.com/menu?DestinAsian">menu</a> with Indonesia in its soul, celebrating local ingredients. <a href="https://jiggerandpony.aflip.in/027ddd86e2.html#page/23?DestinAsian">Ugly Bananas</a> is a standout for both taste and style. A riff on a whisky sour, using Kakubin Japanese whisky and jasmine tea for florality. Precisely accurate polka dots made of agar agar and banana peel give a pleasing look and a toasty caramel finish. <a href="https://jiggerandpony.aflip.in/027ddd86e2.html#page/38?DestinAsian">The Sakura Martini</a> with Roku Gin, sakura distillate and dry vermouth is a sophisticated way to start any evening, soft and strong at the same time. The party-starting punchbowl is also a common fixture here, building on its success in Singapore. Happiness in a bowl, each serves 15-20 potions and is guaranteed to make a celebration of any occasion. Bar snacks are a capable match, the Indomie being a constant conversation starter.
