As in all his menus, seasonal British ingredients are celebrated. Dishes like langoustine pie and a reimagined English garden bring out the Best of British. The <a href="https://destinasian.com/editorial/jakarta-new-restaurants-erre-urrechu-the-crown">charred leek and potato soup</a>, served in bespoke crockery designed by Chef Kirk brought back memories for my colleague James Louie when trying the dish at Jaan’s newly opened sibling <a href="https://destinasian.com/jakarta-dining-the-crown-by-kirk-westaway">The Crown by Kirk Westaway</a> in Jakarta.
While Chef Kirk is humble, his elevated menu takes unassuming vegetables to new heights. The signature English Garden dish features up to 30 individually prepared vegetables, preserving their unique flavors and textures. Across the menu, seasonal classics such as  regally purple artichokes, sweet scallops and a cooling gin and tonic water ice offer a real taste of English summer.

Muted neutrals allow the menu to take center stage, with an impressive chandelier managing to shine in an understated fashion.
