<h5><strong>Why stay? </strong></h5>
<p>Location, location, location. Park Hyatt Bangkok sits at the top of Witthayu (that’s Wireless Road for you old-timers) inside a striking curvilinear tower above the Central Embassy mall by acclaimed Welsh architect Amanda Levete. It’s connected to the efficient BTS system by an elevated walkway, and after a day of sightseeing, you’ll return to sleek, contemporary digs that bear the stamp of New York–based Yabu Pushelberg.</p>
<h5><strong>The neighborhood</strong></h5>
<p>Witthayu is known for its embassies—Switzerland, the Netherlands, the United States, Japan, and Australia are just a few of the countries represented here. In fact, Central Embassy, of which Park Hyatt Bangkok is an integral part, takes its name from the British Embassy that until recently was located on the site. Guests at the hotel will find a fashionable mix of hotels, malls, eateries and office buildings within easy walking distance.</p>

<h5><strong>The feel</strong></h5>
<p>Both the lobby and all-day restaurant Living Room exude a quiet elegance, with an imposing, dramatically lit staircase connecting the two spaces designed for making an entrance. On the other hand, Penthouse Bar + Grill on the 34th and 35th floors has a clubby, masculine feel courtesy of AvroKo, while the 36th floor rooftop is breezy and buzzy.</p>
<h5><strong>Guest quarters</strong></h5>
<p>The hotel prides itself on the fact that each room is unique, with furnishings from different designers and one-of-a-kind art pieces, all curated by Yabu Pushelberg. Light woods and earth tones make the luminous accommodations feel even more spacious. Rooms are a comfortable 48-85 square meters, while suites all have separate living areas and huge bathrooms. The very top-end suites have perks ranging from private gyms to home theaters and kitchens.</p>
<h5><strong>Food and drink</strong></h5>
<p>Embassy Room &#8211; Catalan Cuisine is an overlooked gem of Bangkok’s dining scene. Its generic name gives little indication of the culinary delights it produces under the expert guidance of chef Ferran Tadeo. The tasting menu is seasonal, but recent highlights have included <em>sardina amb escabetx </em>(cured Japanese sardines) and <em>amanida de cranc</em> (a memorable do-it-yourself crab roll). Penthouse Bar + Grill, meanwhile, offers much more than fine steaks. The Bar spans both indoor and rooftop spaces ideal for taking in Bangkok’s glittering skyline. Also of note: there are several hidden private dining rooms throughout the hotel, including one that can only be accessed by crossing a kitchen. Another surprise? The hotel’s already cozy unmarked whisky bar is about to get a facelift and a new vocation. Our money is on a spirit-forward speakeasy.</p>

<h5><strong>Wellness factor</strong></h5>
<p>One of Thailand’s top wellness brands runs the Panpuri Organic Spa on the hotel premises. Panpuri is known for pampering traditional treatments with natural products in ultra-modern facilities. Look for a signature treatment like the three-and-a-half hour Indulge Me package that includes being scrubbed, wrapped, and rubbed into a state of bliss.</p>
<h5><strong>Family matters</strong></h5>
<p>The outdoor pool area is a popular destination for parents and kids alike. With killer views to the north, the 40-meter saltwater infinity pool incorporates a shallow section at one end that is particularly suitable for youngsters. All on-site restaurants offer a kids’ menu, while in-room teddy bears and bath amenities are provided for children.</p>
<h5><strong>Sustainability cred</strong></h5>
<p>Park Hyatt Bangkok works with local suppliers who are committed to raising and producing the best products in the best way for the planet, like Klong Phai Farm for poultry and artisan butcher Sloane’s for pork products. The hotel also supports the Mangrove Learning Center in the outlying district of Bang Khun Tien and the Scholars of Sustenance Foundation Thailand, which shares surplus food with communities in need.</p>
<h5><strong>What else?</strong></h5>
<p>The hotel houses many pieces from the stunning personal art collection of Tos Chirathivat, the man who runs the Central Retail empire. Keep an eye out for elegant sculpted mobiles like <em>Pagoda Mirage</em> (hundreds of bits of copper arranged to replicate the silhouette of a Thai temple) and <em>Naga</em>, which snakes its way over the ceiling of Living Room and Embassy Room—Japanese artist Hirotoshi Sawada created the two installations. The stylized Buddha in the lobby is the work of the late Thai sculptor Nonthivathn Chandhanaphalin.</p>
