In a quaint old red-brick building surrounded by tropical trees and a kitchen garden, Room4Dessert has the kind of heritage character that turns heads. Take a peek at the 15-course dessert degustation menu and there is no turning back. Showcasing the creative genius of American celebrity chef Will Goldfarb (who has World’s Best Pastry Chef among his accolades), the restaurant is a celebration of the playful and inventive—while highly technical—world of desserts. It’s a molecular gastronomy journey but it’s not necessarily a sweet one. Goldfarb’s menus have seasonal profiles that zone in on native ingredients and flavors grown on the small farm plot next to the restaurant. A preserved lemon tart might be spiked with galangal, for example, or ice cream could be caramelized with coconut.
