Tucked within a converted row of prewar houses, Bar Triptyk opened in late 2022 and is already driving KL’s sustainable cocktail scene. Owner-bartender Angel Ng ensures that no part of any ingredient goes to waste, and kitchen scraps from the restaurant downstairs are repurposed in imaginative drinks that nod to significant people or memories from her life. The jackfruit-garnished Rattan Highball—a combination of sake, watermelon, and coconut soda—evokes the fruit roll-up; the Absinthia Rai (absinthe, chardonnay, elderflower tonic, tea, and ginger powder) is an homage to Ng’s own daughter. Bar Triptyk’s industrial-chic interior also has an eco-friendly outlook by way of recycled wood tables and a bar assembled from leftover construction materials. With colorful panels, artwork, and pops of neon light on a canvas of bare walls and exposed timber beams, it makes for a trippy place to imbibe amid Kampung Attap’s emerging hub of indie creativity. —Dana Ter
