<p>When Regent Hong Kong first made its debut on the Kowloon waterfront back in 1980 as the flagship property of the then-ascendant Regent International Hotels—the brainchild of none other than Robert H. Burns and Adrian Zecha—it was a much-anticipated addition to Hong Kong’s luxury hospitality scene. The Regent was eventually rebranded in 2001, and now, after nearly two decades of flying the InterContinental flag, the landmark hotel has turned a new chapter. Regent Hong Kong has been relaunched in the wake of an extensive renovation that saw the interiors almost completely overhauled.</p>
<p>Hong Kong–born multidisciplinary designer Chi Wing Lo has taken the idea of a tranquil personal haven amid the bustle of the vibrant Tsim Sha Tsui neighborhood and run with it, fitting out 497 guest rooms and suites in a soothing color palette using natural materials and a balance of light and dark tones. Deep soaking bathtubs are guaranteed in every room category, and the accommodations facing Victoria Harbour all feature a long daybed beside the window. The broader emphasis is on quietness and relaxation. Suite guests have exclusive access to the Regent Club, where they can enjoy complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails in a serene environment.</p>

<p>Downstairs, guests will find no less than six excellent bars and restaurants to choose from. The Lobby Lounge is the place for afternoon tea and evening cocktails enjoyed with stellar views of the Hong Kong Island skyline. Fine Cantonese venue Lai Ching Heen is the proud owner of two Michelin stars, and draws regulars for its sumptuous seafood (like braised abalone in oyster jus) and exquisite dim sum. As its name suggests, The Steak House specializes in succulent premium meats cooked expertly on a grill. Harbourside dishes up mouth-watering buffets complete with Asian and Western favorites; it serves as the main breakfast spot. Launched only in early December, Qura Bar is a theatrical cocktail den and lounge that offers patrons an extensive collection of drinks and rare spirits. Rounding out the culinary lineup is Nobu Hong Kong for Japanese-Peruvian cuisine by celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa.</p>
<p>As for recreational facilities, guests at Regent Hong Kong will have no problem staying fit while on the road, thanks to a 24-hour gymnasium stocked with the latest equipment. An expansive resort-like pool terrace offers plenty of room to stretch out after a relaxing swim: there are daybeds and shaded cabanas, as well as a trio of infinity-edge Jacuzzi pools that overlook Victoria Harbour.</p>
<p>Regent Hong Kong’s exceptional location doesn’t just deliver postcard-perfect vistas across the water. Travelers staying here are just a stone’s throw from a string of major attractions along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, including K11 Musea mall, the Avenue of Stars, and the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Going farther afield via public transportation promises to be just as convenient: the East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station lies right on the doorstep of the hotel, while Tsim Sha Tsui MTR can also be reached via an underground passageway.</p>
