Reaching speeds of more than 380 kph, the world’s fastest train, the Wuguang Passenger Railway, hit the tracks last month, linking the cities of Guangzhou and Wuhan in China. The distance of 1,068 kilometers is covered in less than three hours, rather than the usual nine.
This month will see the launch of a 3,450-square-meter cruise terminal in Dubai’s Port Rashid complex. Expected to host some 120 cruise ships in 2010, the new terminal will mark its debut with a visit from the latest ship from the Costa Cruises fleet, Costa Deliziosa, calling on the emirate in mid-February.
In an effort to boost tourism in 2010, the Indian government has announced that nationals of Singapore, New Zealand, and Japan can now make the most of a new visa on arrival program when they visit the country. The single-entry tourist visas will be available at airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata.
